At Thank You Mama, we pride ourselves on offering our mamas the very best care. Your pregnancy massage therapist is certified in pre/post-natal massage in addition to traditional massage therapy. With this extra training your therapist has gained invaluable skill and knowledge to safely and effectively treat you during this very special and sometimes challenging time of your life.

Once your needs and desires have been established, your therapist will utilize techniques such as relaxation massage, deep tissue, passive movement, neuromuscular therapy and positional release to leave you feeling balanced and renewed. We use a special side-lying body cushion system that is both comfortable and safe for your changing body, as well as organic and chemical-free oils, creams and lotions.

We recommend that you receive a postpartum massage every 1-3 weeks for the first 12 weeks after delivery to aid in postpartum recovery and leave you with a sense of wellbeing. You can lie on your belly again!

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy

This therapy focuses on reproductive, digestive and urinary health by guiding pelvic organs into proper positioning, decongesting the entire abdomen and aligning the spine and hips. When pelvic organs are out of alignment, the normal flow of blood and lymph is constricted and nerve connections are disrupted. Even a few extra ounces of weight sitting on blood, lymph and nerve vessels can cause havoc throughout the body. By gently massaging the uterus and pelvic organs into alignment, homeostasis, or balance within, is restored. During the initial treatment you are taught a self-care routine that furthers your healing and empowers you on your wellness journey. Women receive this therapy for fertility enhancement, painful or irregular menstruation, PMS, difficult menopause, low back pain, prolapse of pelvic organs, frequent urination, incontinence, and digestive issues.

Mother Warming

At Thank You Mama we understand and honor your passage into motherhood. We offer treatments, herbs and guidance to make this transition as wonderful as possible. We provide Warming the Mother treatments to postpartum mamas to preserve the mother’s essence and rejuvenate her body and soul. Warming the Mother, also known as Mother Roasting, is a traditional technique of bodywork, acupressure and abdominal warming that has roots across the globe. Each treatment is tailored to individual needs, and includes abdominal massage to reestablish muscle tone, belly wrapping with castor oil pack to warm and re-orientate core muscles, acupressure at key points for energy balancing, and deep relaxation massage for muscles taxed from motherhood such as the shoulders and hips. Mamas can receive this treatment within the first two weeks with Vaginal birth and 4-6 weeks after C-section delivery. We feel that caring for yourself during the postpartum period is just as important as the time during pregnancy, because a healthy mama equals a healthy family.

We know at Thank You Mama that the strength of a community lies with the health, knowledge and intuition of the Family - that knowledge translates to the gratitude our adult children feel, when they realize that they were raised in health and given lifelong tools to listen to their own bodies. 

Getting Pediatric care at Thank You Mama includes:  nutrition, bodywork, and yes even Acupuncture. Our acupuncturists use special needling techniques and needles so fine that they are about the size of a hair. For young children, a rapid needling technique is used where the needle is inserted and immediately taken out, so babies and children do not have to sit still for more than a few seconds at a time.  As with adult acupuncture care, other modalities such as acupressure or bodywork, cupping, moxibustion, herbal medicine, diet therapy, and mind-body practices might also be recommended.  

Herbal Medicines are a cornerstone in our pediatric protocols.  Herbal medicine has been used for centuries and these plants may be used for a short period of time when treating acute conditions and longer when treating chronic disease.

Following an initial assessment of your child’s body, we will prescribe an herbal medicine formula that will be formulated in raw tea, liquid, powder, or pill form that will add another layer of balance to your child’s system.  We will also utilize foods as medicine and home care tips to enhance health for today and all days to come.

Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing your placenta after the birth of your baby by dehydrating, powdering and placing it into capsules for you to use as you see fit.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation method involves first steaming the placenta over ginger, lemon, and hot peppers. These herbs are included in the steaming water only, and are not incorporated into the capsules.  Rich in vitamins, minerals, and hormones, the placenta can help restore Qi (energy), Blood (iron and minerals), and Essence (stem cells) depleted through pregnancy and birth.  

TCM preparation is digested easily and reportedly gives steady, slow-released, long lasting results.  

The total cost for placenta encapsulation services is $350.   

*The cost will include Placenta pick-up from hospitals, birth centers, or homes within 10 miles of Thank You Mama.  Any location further than 10 miles will require an additional $50 travel fee.
