ATMAT MassageThe Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy

Thank You Mama massage therapist, Jen Poll, is one of the only practitioners of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (ATMAT®) practicing within Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. This therapy focuses on reproductive, digestive and urinary health by guiding pelvic organs into proper positioning, decongestion of the entire abdomen and alignment of the spine and hips. When pelvic organs are out of alignment, the normal flow of blood and lymph is constricted and nerve connections are disrupted. Even a few extra ounces of weight sitting on blood, lymph and nerve vessels can cause havoc throughout the body. By gently massaging the uterus and pelvic organs into alignment, homeostasis, or balance within, is restored.

Maya Abdominal Therapy includes massage, dietary advice, herbal therapy and self-care instruction to give you the tools you need to achieve your health goals. Women receive this therapy for challenges such as infertility, painful or irregular menstruation, PMS, difficult menopause, low back pain, prolapse of pelvic organs, frequent urination, incontinence, and digestive issues.

How do the Arvigo Techniques support fertility?

It is estimated that approximately 30 percent of women who have been unsuccessful in conceiving eventually conceive after a succession of ATMAT® sessions. Treatments generally consist of massage, diet, lifestyle modifications and herbal medicines to enhance fertility. Once the uterus is in its optimal position, there is improved hemodynamics and homeostasis to support and enhance fertility. When including the partner in the process, we find fertility is increased. After all, men need this work as much as women do!
